Wire wheels have a lot of surface: every spoke, nipple and the lip. A simple routine keeps them bright, and it is also what the Player finish warranty asks for.
How to clean wire wheels: washing
- Use Dawn dish soap and a soft, non-abrasive cloth. Nothing else.
- Never wash wheels while they are hot. Let them cool after a drive; heat can damage the finish.
- Rinse well and dry every spoke so water does not sit on the finish.
What to avoid
Harsh chemicals or improper care can void the finish warranty. Skip acid wheel cleaners, abrasive pads and stiff brushes.
Winter, coast and storage
In coastal, winter or humid areas, lightly spray clean, dry wheels with WD-40 before storing them to help prevent rust and corrosion. Store them in a cool, dry place.
Chrome vs gold
The chrome finish is covered for one year when these care steps are followed. Custom finishes such as gold plating are not covered by the finish warranty, so treat gold and rose gold wheels gently. Full details: Terms, Warranty & Returns.
